Biotoxic Warfare - Lobotomized

Biotoxic Warfare is a five piece band from Greece. Members are Mike-Vocals, George-Lead Guitars/Backing Vocals, Stelios-Rhythm Guitars, Panagiwtis PS-Bass, Orestis-Drums. Genre described as Thrash metal.

Lobotomized album released on January 2015 Slaney Record. The release features eight songs. My first impression, the old school metal influence is evident from the opening track. Some of the bands that popped into my head as I listen to this release were, Death, Overkill, old Sepultura, Anthrax and D.R.I. Comparisons aside, the album progresses from thrash then into death metal realm as it reaches the end. The guitar solos are great. A lot of memorable melodies and structures. "Dysphoric Reality", is one of my favorite songs. On this particular track, the influence of the band Death and Slayer is very clear in the composition. The title song "Lobotomized", is another worth mentioning. It has a catchy acoustic twelve string guitar intro that stuck in my head. "Parasitic Life", comes in with relentless battery which is great to my ears. "As We Rot" brings a thunderous drum progression followed by blistering blast beats. This is one of the songs I played several times at a loud volume. In conclusion, this is an aggressive and punishing album that should not be missed, both fans of the old school thrash metal and the new generation of metalheads will find something to enjoy from this album. ~Artemortifica

Kneel Before None - Carnal Disfigurement

Kneel Before None is a four piece band from Burns, TN. Members are, Jonathan Edwards-Vocals, Jake Davis-Guitar, Drew Owen-Guitar, David Smotherman-Bass, Ryan Warf-Drums. Genre described as death metal.

Carnal Disfigurement album self released on September 30th 2014. The album contains eleven tracks. My first thoughts, brutal and completely devastating. After a short and eerie intro, the music comes in with relentless fury. A mix of high and low demonic vocals come through the speakers and are fitting with all the gore that is being projected. Not just grinds and heaviness, there is a good amount of technicality and melody which can be heard on tracks like Cannibalistic Abduction, A Disgorged Existence and Zombies Don't Say #YOLO. The production on the album is really good. Drums are intense and powerful, guitars have great distortion on both rhythm and solos. Bass is powerful and dominant. Some of the stand out tracks for me would have to be "Nyctophilia", I really like the pummeling double bass kicks. "Disembodied Provocation", memorable passages and strong blast beats are relentless and crushing. "Tangled, Strangled, Mangled ", catchy title and its intense delivery is enough to get your blood pumping.

In conclusion, this is an energetic and crushing debut album. Catchy chord progressions and brutalizing vocals. Fans of Devourment, Dying Fetus, Aborted, Decapitated and Immolation would surely want to explore this album. ~Artemotifica

Degenerhate - Chronicles Of The Apocalypse

Degenerhate is a five piece band from Italy. Members are, Gianluca Lucarini: lead guitar-screaming/backing vocals, Marco Paparella: bass guitar, Renato Lucandri: vocals/grunts, Stuart Franzoni: drums, Angelo Vernati: rhythm guitar. Genre described as Grindcore.

Chronicles Of The Apocalypse album released on Sliptrick Records 2014. This album contains nineteen songs, my first impression, like a battering ram to the face. Extreme aggression comes purring through my speakers from the moment I hit the play button. Blistering grind/blast beats and raw guitar riffing coupled with low/high vocals will make your skin fall off. The songs are short but they deliver a punishing blow. Grind is the name of the game and that's exactly what they deliver. In terms of production, the quality is very good. The drums are solid and guitars had killer distortion along with a heavy bass tone to fill the ground level. It makes the walls crumble.

There's a couple of samples like on the tracks Earth First and Fur is Dead which deal with extinction and are fitting for the songs. Among the tracks I enjoyed the most are "Another You Another", I liked the chorus and it is slightly slower the the previous songs. "New World Disorder", crushing guitar rhythms and grinding blast make this one to mosh to. "Running Through the Blood", although somewhat different as far as production, like it was recorded at at different time. It has memorable passages and intense drums.

Final thoughts, the music will crush your senses, delivering and intense ride without any dull moments. Fans of Brutal Truth, Unrest, Cretin, old Napalm Death, and Terrorizer will want to add this one to their collection. ~Artemortifica

Toxoid - Aurora Satanae

Toxoid is a band from India. Members are Adnan Khan - Lead Guitar/ Vocals, Sagar sidhanti - Drums, Paul Marandi - Bass, Angad Singh - Guitar. Genre described as Satanic Black Metal.

Aurora Satanae, album released on December 7th, 2014 Transcending Obscurity Distribution. Rising from the deep darkness of the abyss, this is a slab of sheer terror. Comprised of raw and relentless music to crush the senses. The album consist of six tracks. Pure malevolence thru every orifice. The title track Aurora Satanae hits high marks on my radar. Like the early days of Black Metal, blistering blast beats and demonic screams. Thy Infernal Defloration starts with a haunting melody, then melts the mind with unhinged black metal devastation. The production is not the best, but its dirty and harsh sound adds to the dark atmosphere being created.

My final thoughts. the music is an intense and powerful projection of BM. Its raw quality only serves to add an extra dimension of horror to the already spine crushing sounds. ~Artemortifica

Sepulchral Curse - A Birth in Death

Sepulchral Curse is a four piece death metal band from Finland. Members include Kari Kankaanpää - Vocals, Jaakko Riihimäki - Guitars, Tommi Ilmanen - Drums, Niilas Nissilä - Bass.

A Birth in Death album released on December 15th, 2014, Chaos & Hell Productions. Here we have four tracks from the great depths of hell. The vocals are pure demonic infestation. Low and destructive. There are high vocals as well which add a second dimension to the experience. Some of the bands that come to mind as I listen are, Suffocation, Entombed, Grave and Gorefest.  The whole thing is over rather quickly but the tracks are catchy enough to stick with you long after the EP is over. Songs like Demonic Pestilence are crushing and reflect the early dm style of the 90s. Torn to Shreds is another stand out and will make you want to punch things. I enjoyed the entire ride. The EP is powerful and will be a great addition to any metal fans library. ~Artemortifica

ÉOHUM Post Teaser Video For Debut Album 'Revelations, Aurora of An Epoch

Formed in 2010 from the mind of guitarist / writer Jeremy Perkins, Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) brings together some of the most dark and groove oriented metals of heavy low end doom riffs to meet black metal atmospheres.  With shredding guitar tones uplifted by the French horns plus a touch of clean breaks with beautiful lyrics and vocals, Éohum expand their style within the relentless drive that surround a new air, a new sound, an attempt to join forces with eco-awareness and spirit for their upcoming debut album, 'Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch', which will be made available as a pay what you want release via Perkins' indie label Mycelium Networks.

"April 7th we unleash our first beast, 'Revelations Aurora Of An Epoch' and it will give everyone a good idea of what Éohum has to offer. A storm of relentless black, doom and death metal embark together on a ship of progressive madness. With guests like Matt McGachy on this album, one can enjoy a multitude of arrangements with its original sound, which we are so proud to share with the world, but this is just the beginning!" comments Perkins.

The release features a collective of musicians that includes guest vocals from Matt McGachy (Cryptopsy) (Tracks 3-4-5-7), Lana Edwards (Intro & Outro), Phillippe Rieder (Track 6), Nick Wybo (ex-Vinyl Hero) on drums, Annie Perreault on French horn/trumpet, Sylvain Dumont on guitar, James Heymans on bass and Perkins himself on guitar plus a live line up that includes drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) and vocalist Barrie Butler (ex : Tard).

“I like to have guests and friends from the scene on the album it gives a great touch and makes our stuff evolve and progress tremendously. The album should be received as fresh meat on the slab, especially with a French horn with groove doom low ends that makes the Éohum sound stand out.” says Perkins.

With so much talent from various backgrounds, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing horns ready to be injected into the veins of metal fans.

Musically ‘Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch’ gives a great opportunity to taste a different aspect where you can chill out to a doom song and get up and swing your 4 foot long hair to our blackest riffs a second later in this relentless progression. Expect a groove and good sounding black metal without the new age tech-metal touches, we stick to the root, but with a better sound than black metal is usually attributed too and some doom to make your day.” Perkins adds.

Éohum is recommended for fans of Emperor, Immortal, Therion, Dimmu Borgir, Deicide, Neurosis, Behemoth.
