Lecks Inc exclusive interview
1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group?
Lecks Inc is a French one man band formed in 2009 in Marseille in the South of France... it's a project that I started alone, and which as a measure of its local success, then national has evolved into a format Live to be able to promote through concerts.
Where is the band from?
This project was born out of frustration and anger at having had other bands split up without ever accomplishing anything. So I set up this solo project in the Marseille region, and in 12 years... I have 5 European tours, 5 Albums, international group openings and on prestigious festivals.
2- "G.O.D." is the band's (first etc) full album, how long did it take to write?
GOD. was the very first album I wrote in 2009, but it took until 2014 to be able to release it, because it was censored for years by the courts, and I was sued for 2 years for its cover . I fought, and even though it took longer... I was able to release the album. It's an album that I wrote in a few months, and recorded in 1 year, it was very fast
3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?
Life, its experiences, anger, frustration, injustice, dreams... everything that surrounds us, musical, filmographic and literary influences
4- The group started in 2009, can you tells us how did you all meet?
As I said, I started on my own... and it took several years to recruit musicians through ads or contacts
5- The new album title is H.E.L.L., can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?
It's a new clean electro album that gives way to industrial and dance sounds!!! This new album breaks the codes established in the previous ones, radically changing style... going against the expectations of those who follow us, to explore new horizons, to show that we also know how to navigate the unknown and taking risks... it may appeal to new people, less to others, but it's important to try to renew yourself so as not to go around in circles. This new album is about everyday frustrations, raging anger and the need to put things in their place.
6- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?
We have played in more than 15 European countries and outside Europe sometimes... we do not forget our local audience, who have supported us for years and we end this year by continuing to play in France for the pleasure of presenting this new album . The public is receptive, although it is increasingly difficult to get people out of their comfort zone.
7- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?
Not for this year, we have already finished our tour with I AM MORBID & BELPHEGOR... and this summer's Festival tour is over as well. we will end the year with a small Date series in France.
