Image
Polish act Atrocious Filth have announced a second album “OVV” will be available in vinyl format via Moans Music and Fabryka HaÅ‚asu . This follows a limited local-only run of the LP in the band and label’s home country.  Listen to OVV via Bandcamp or Spotify Watch a music video to the track "L", filmed at Olsztyn Puppet Theatre:  While the band may be little known in the wider music world, Atrocious Filth’s history goes back to the early 90s and could be considered a hidden gem for aficionados of heavy, pummeling and experimental music. The band was founded in 1991 in Olsztyn, Poland by the late ex-Vader drummer Krzysztof ‘Docent’ Raczkowski, SÅ‚awomir ‘MaÅ‚eg’ Jóźwiak (bass) and Andrzej ‘Andzia’ ChoromaÅ„ski (guitar). The band’s debut album, “100% Jesus”, was released in 1994 on cassette and only 14 years later on CD.  Following a nearly 20-year break, the band returned in 2016 with a fresh line-up and a new EP “Moans” with a new present-day sound, but continuing the atmo...

Image
Watch the music video: https://youtu.be/DzsQTocxc6c The Finnish hippie metal superstars Egokills are back - bigger, badder & more dangerous than ever! The latest Egokills banger is called Life’s a Party and it is a reminder of what life’s about in these dark times. The song comes with a movie quality music video, directed by the bands long-time friend Timo Lepistö and shot by Anthony Putkonen. The video portrays the band in its natural habitat, partying around their own camper van. Vocalist Janne Selo plays the main part. Selo has also written the song. The banjo riff at the beginning is played by Egokills’ own guitar virtuoso Niko Viita-aho when the band happened to find a real banjo from Fantom Studio. “The spring is in the air and I can hear the internal banjos playing. Life’s good!”, Janne Selo comments. Third Egokills album is ready and will be released in fall 2023. Matti Lötjönen acted as the executive producer and Olli Anttila produced the vocals. The release party of Life’...

To my readers, please give a warm welcome to Black Reuss Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from? I have to thank you for your interest in Black Reuss and taking the time.  I currently live with my family in the Principality of Liechtenstein.  After playing and touring in bands for almost 30 years, I had enough and took a break. As time went on, I felt more and more that something was missing in my life. Music makes me feel good and is a perfect balance for my life. So in 2017, I started writing one song after another, trying different sound designs as well. Until in 2019, I found a way to realize what's inside of me. And that is Black Reuss. Black Reuss is 100 percent my own music that comes from deep inside me. So I worked for three years on how to get to that sound, and developed the Tetralogy concept that I'm implementing now. Sty...

Hild - Violent, Swedish Metal 1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group?  Where is the band from? Hild - Thank you for your interest! HILD is a thrash oriented band centered around the valkyries of Nordic myth. Each song a channeling of their respective traits and energies. Eventually the theme will broaden obviously, there are not all too many valkyries left to sing about haha! It's perfectly fine listening to it as just high energy metal band to get your blood going. But it is based on my personal beliefs and spiritual practices.  There is more to it to anyone interested to find out. Some other musical influences than thrash naturally came seeping in along the work.  We just call it by the slogan "Violent Swedish Metal". So, obviously, we are from Sweden!  2- ValFreiya is the band's first full album, how long did it take to wri...
