Emperor Live performance at Aragon ballroom Chicago 2023

Image
Attending this event was the perfect way to start the summer in Chicago. I secured my tickets well in advance, precisely three weeks prior. As an admirer of Emperor's musical work, I was excited to capture their performance in a grand setting at The Aragon Ballroom through filming and photography on my phone. This is part of Emperor's Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk US Tour 2023 Typically, I would use my Canon T3i as my primary camera to capture photos of a show. However, due to my recent travels, I was unable to bring it with me and had to rely solely on my phone. As a result, the quality of the following photos may not be up to par, but I still wanted to share them with you. Just wanted to mention that I bought my tickets for the show from EventBite. They were a steal at only sixteen dollars each, saving me a lot compared to the initial price of sixty dollars per ticket. I had both a printout and a QR code on my phone, but unfortunately, the scanner at the entrance didn't w

Immortal Bird Live at Aragon Ball Room Chicago in Support of Emperor

This event was the best way to kick off the summer in Chicago. I got tickets for this event early on, about three weeks ago to be exact. I have had the opportunity to film and take pictures of Immortal Bird and wanted to catch them in a big venue.  Normally I bring my main camera, the Canon T3i, to photograph a show but unfortunately on this day I had to go without it because of my travels. All I had with me was my phone so these next pics are not the best but I wanted to share them with you here. On a side note; the tickets I purchased were from EventBite, they were at a low price of sixteen dollars compared to the initial price point if sixty per ticket. I had the printout and even had the QR code on my phone. When we got to the front of the line the scanner did not work. We ended up going to the box office and were told that these were not going to work. I had to spend one hundred sixty-four to buy new tickets and get into the show. Yes, a bummer but we got to enjoy he show after al

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music News and Interviews. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group?  Where is the band from?        Hi, Thanks so much for reaching out and giving us the chance to answer your questions. Raum Kingdom started out with all close friends and lovers of music and playing, in late 2013 after an old band Myself (Andrew, Guitarist) and Dave the Singer which was called 'Killing Lazarus', a sort of experimental Post Rock band ended. We wanted to try our hat at something a little heavier and more intense, so we asked two of our close friends to see if they wanted to join us on the journey. So with that: Mark -(Drums ) Bones -(Bass) RIP who sadly passed away in 2021 and is deeply missed, Dave -(Singer), and myself -(Andrew, Guitars) Raum Kingdom came to be. We are from the East Coast of Ireland, most of us mainly from a town called 'Drogheda' which is 60km North of Dublin.   2- Monarc

Interviewees: C: Carolin Koss (vocals) A: Alexander Meaney (guitars) T: Tuomas Talka (bass guitar) S: Sami Heiniö (drums) 1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music News and Interviews. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group? Where is the band from? T: We are Orbiter, a doom metal band from Helsinki, Finland. Our musical direction relies heavily on building dynamics between massive riffs and hazy calm soundscapes, spiced with hypnotic vocals. 2- Hollow World is the band's first full album. How long did it take to compose and record? T: The composition phase for this album lasted from spring 2020 to spring 2022, so two years in total. The first song we got ready was Under Your Spell, which I made with Carolin already in May 2020 and it became sort of ready in one go. The last song that got ready was actually the opening track of the album, Silence Breaks. This got ready just a few weeks before the studio, some time pres

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music NEWS and interviews. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group? Where is the band from? Ego Planet is a heavy rock band based out of New Jersey that came about from some demos I was working on over the pandemic. I got into a great rhythm over the lockdown of writing 2-3 instrumental demos a week for fun just to keep my guitar chops up. After sitting on the tunes for awhile I teamed up with Jarrett Mead (vocals) and Steve Iannettoni (drums) to record our first singles/full length and Ego Planet was born!   2- "Ego Planet" is the band's debut full album. How long did it take to compose and record? Our debut album will be self titled. It took us roughly two years to write, record, mix/master and self fund.  3- What musical influences inspire the band's compositions? For the musical side of things I draw from a wide variety of bands. A lot of classic metal meets modern m

Panic Attack Interview and talks about their release Don't Stop

Image
1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music News and reviews Thank you Metal Music news and Interviews for having us. Panic Attack! plays bipolar beach thrash punk infused with hard-core and acid jazz. We live in Norway and our music has a flow that suits our surroundings with a sound that matches a skateboard ride to the beach. 2- "Don't Stop" is the band's new full length album. How long did it take to compose and record? We released a demo in 2016 but really this album has taken seven or eight years because it just kept getting better and better. We were also able to cover two songs from the band OFF! called Panic Attack and Black Thoughts. OFF! is a huge influence on our band.  Keith Morris and Dimitri Coats were awesome enough to let us cover their songs on the album although they are not on the digital streaming platforms but they are on the physical formats, 13 songs in 28 minutes. At the end we were able to get Mastered by Maor Appelbaum! That dude is a total legend a

Leaden Fumes interview in depth view of their latest release Kanashibari

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group? Where is the band from? Leaden Fumes comprises three talented musicians hailing from Basel, Switzerland. Our music is heavy and slow, with a touch of experimentation. As a trio, we believe we can best express the kind of music we create. Despite our seriousness towards music, we enjoy bending the rules of genres. Humor plays a crucial role in both our music and lyrics. 2- "Kanashibari" is the band's latest album. How long did it take to compose and record? It's been about a year since we started working on new songs while waiting for our first album to be pressed. We've been fortunate enough to have the inspiration and creativity to keep the music flowing. 3- What musical influences inspire the band's compositions? I'm not sure. I don't really think about it that way. Our musical tastes differ, so wh

Void Cruiser interview and talks about the new release Call To The Void

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music News and Interviews. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a description of the group?  Where is the band from? Greetings! We are Void Cruiser, an alternative heavy rock band from Helsinki, Finland. Void Cruiser was founded in 2011 and developed its sound through stoner rock, grunge, and heavy rock towards more post-rockish, and shoegaze sound in recent years.   2- "Call of The Void" is the band's third full album. How long did it take to compose and record? Well, altogether it took around four years. We released our previous album “Wayfarer” in 2017 and started to compose the album pretty soon after that. A lot was going on in members’ lives and we reorganized the group by getting a new member so it took time to get ourselves together. The actual recording session took only several days. 3- What musical influences inspire the band's compositions? There are so many and they have changed a bit du
