R3VO Exclusive interview

1-Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Hi everyone, Leo (vocalist) here. Our band is called R3VO and we are based in Berlin.

2- "Fireflies" is the band's debut EP, how long did it take to write?

We wrote some songs to experiment with our sound in the time period between 2019 and 2021, for this EP we selected 5 of these songs.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

Opeth, Karnivool, RATM, Porcupine Tree, and more.

4- The group started in 2019, can you tells us how did you all meet?

We met in music school! Very cute.

5- The album title is "Fireflies", can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

All 5 songs of the EP "Fireflies" cover very different themes in terms of lyrics. In short "Artificial Pleasure" deals with the concept of addiction, "Fireflies" lyrics are a silly adaptation of one of  Games of Thrones storylines, "Dorian Gray" is about a person I had the pleasure of meeting, "Darling" is about hopeless love, and "Aluminium" talks about fighting the fear of the unknownand prejudices.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band? How do you maintain a good balance working together?

Yes, we all have other projects, and sometimes it gets difficult. Especially when live gigs overlap. Being R3VO our main project, we usually find substitutes for the other projects.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We have been gigging non-stop since the covid restrictions on live music were lifted in Germany. Some venues were almost empty, some were full. Nonetheless, it's been great so far.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

We have two shows in November, on the 5th (Autumn Bash, ATOK Berlin) and on the 11th (Marie Antoinette Berlin, Moonrock Events), and then we will enter a live-show break that we actually really need.

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band? Any final words?

Our Instagram page @r3vo.official or through our email address revobandberlin@gmail.com.

Thank you very much for the interest in our band
