Exclusive interview with the band Nightstalker

To my readers, please give a warm welcome to the band Nightstalker

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Hello there and thanks for  the invitation. Nightstalker was formed back in 1989 in Athens, Greece. Our first album was out in 1995 (side fx). From there on we are touring and recording since now. All these years we have been experimenting with rock music and we love trying different things on music.

2- Dead Rock Commandos is the band's 4th full album (now re-issued), how long did it take to write?

I remember that the recording took us two months on recordings, but we were working on it for two years. You know, preproduction it's a long process.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

We are a rock (stoner) band, so our influences comes back in the 70’s music. We all love Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Hawkwind, Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, but we are very open to other kinds of music like funk, special Funkadelic is a great inspiration for us

4- The group started in 1989, can you tells us how did you all meet?

Me and my first guitar player we were friends, and I was playing the drums so we started jamming. After a while my first bass player was joining us along with another guitar player 1991-92 we had to let go of the bass and the guitar players because we were staring to have deferment opinions about music. Then in 92 I met Andreas (my bass player till now) and we started playing together immediately! It was like magic! So another friend of mine who was a great solo guitar player but he was a biker to joined in. I was already playing the drums and singing and we started playing and recording. In 95, we had our first five songs album.

5- The album title is Dead Rock Commandos, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

The main idea of the album is human greed. I mean take a look around the planet. We just killing each other and destroying everything on it. All that's going to left is just a dead rock. We don't need this and the only cure for this is love and understanding

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?

Nightstalker is the main band for all of us, but we are very open to trying other kind of music. Anyway we all have friends that are playing with other bands so over all these years we were experiencing things when we had time off from the band.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? If so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We have a very strong fun base in Europe so we are touring a lot. The Greek stoner scene has become bigger over the last years

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

We are starting a summer festival tour on the 1st of july

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band?

Every detail is on our website: nightstalkerband.com Thanks a lot for the interview.
