Exclusive interview with Doubting Thompson
To my readers please give a warm welcome to Doubting Thompson
1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group?
Where is the band from?
Doubting Thompson is a one-man crossover/thrash metal studio project. It started in Illinois but is currently based in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
2- Revelations is the band's latest EP, how long did it take to write?
It was written and recorded over the space of a couple years with pauses to work on other projects.
3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?
Thrash bands like Coroner, Slayer, and Megadeth and also shred players like Yngwie Malmsteen.q
4- The group started in 2015, can you tells us how did you all meet?
I started the project as an offshoot of a couple of other collaborative projects.
5- The new album title is Revelations, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?
Doubting Thompson is a play on words about being atheist, so the title is kind of a play on that. The lyrical content of the songs are observations about problems I see in politics and society so the title is referencing those things as well.
6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?
I work by myself so basically I have to make sure that all of my personalities get along when I'm working.
7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?
I haven't been doing shows because Doubting Thompson is strictly a studio project at the moment. That could change in the future with the right personnel.
8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?
No live performances are in the works currently, however I am working on new material for my next release.
9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band?
Any final words?
The Doubting Thompson Facebook page has all of my contact info. For best response, my email is ffrroghh@yahoo.com. Lastly, I'd just like to say I'm excited about the opportunity to have my latest release on SLIPTRICK RECORDS and I am hard at work on new material so the best is yet to come!
