Exclusive interview with Spektrvm

Greetings and please give a warm welcome to Spektrvm

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group?

Where is the band from?

The music of Greek metal group Spektrvm (pronounced ‘Spectrum’) spreads wide across the chromatic political, religious and many other themes. We are 5 different people, with 5 different musical tastes, and that always makes it interesting to see where the mix of ideas and styles will take us.

2- "Blood For Heaven" is the band's first full album, how long did it take to write?

Ideas for the album had been forming since the early days it was formed back in 2016, but when we actually decided to write songs and create an almost concept album, the first half took about a year to form, and the other 5 songs, a little less than that. The songs were being tweaked up until the day of their final recording in 2020. Some changes were even made while on studio.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

The general musical style could be considered as heavy metal with influences from progressive, folk, nu, thrash and doom metal, but no one can be sure where the endless well of musical ideas and interactions within the Spektrvm cannon are going to lead.

4- The group started in 2016, can you tells us how did you all meet?

The group was formed in 2016, by Michael Pouliezos and George Zikas in their mid/late teens, hanging out around school, with common associates, and has changed various members over time before finalizing their line-up in the fall of 2022. Each member came with a funny story behind their “joining the band” chapter, but it would take pages before those stories even began to make sense.

5- The new album title is Blood For Heaven, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

This “concept” album, addresses what we consider to be some of the biggest faults in society, spanning in various different relatable themes, such as greed, vanity and more. The name of the album is shared with the second track on its list, and was, what we felt to be, the “headliner”, and the most damaging, in the course of history. The manipulation of human “faith” towards profitable ends. So we decided that this would be the name of the album.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?

Everyone has a life, and everyone has priorities. We have just agreed to put the highest one of the latter, time and creativeness wise, on Spektrvm, and we are staying true to that.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We have performed many live shows in our general area, but also in different parts of the country. The support, as well as the positive feedback from the crowds, were two huge reasons that pushed us to evolve to a professional level.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

We have some plans, which will be revealed as time progresses but nothing is set in stone. We can say that live shows will happen soon, but with no further details for the time being.

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band?

Any final words?

The best ways to contact the band would be, either through social media:
