Vredesblod exclusive interview

To my readers, please give a warm welcome to Vredesblod!

1-Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Thank you very much for this interview. Vredesblod is a heavy metal band from Sweden. We try to combine classic heavy metal with a contemporary feel. The vocals are in Swedish, which separates us from most other bands, it also gives the lyrics a much more personal meaning to us. The band consists of Magnus Hultman on vocals, Kjetil Lynghaug on guitars, me (Peter Svensson) on bass and Marcus Rosenkvist on drums

2- “Ruiner” is the band's first album, how long did it take to write?

The music for the album was written by Kjetil over the last couple of years. The lyrics were written by me, most of them were written quite fast after we decided to start Vredesblod. However, some lyrics are almost 20 years old, since none of my other bands sing in English they have been saved for the right moment. And obviously the right moment is now with Vredesblod.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

The music is inspired by many of the classic metal bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica, but there are also influences from newer bands like Kvelertak.

4- The group started in 2021, can you tells us how did you all meet?

I got in contact with Kjetil when we were working together with Rogga Johansson in the bands Gauntlet Rule and Heir Corpse One. Last year, Kjetil asked me if I had any lyrics in Swedish that he could use for a new band. I submitted the lyrics and when I heard the music and final compositions, I insisted on joining the band. I brought in Magnus from my other band Cult of the Fox. The final member to join was Marcus, who also play in Heir Corpse One and Cult of the Fox (among others).

5- The new album title is “Ruiner”, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

The title "Ruiner" means "Ruins" in English and describes the destruction that mankind causes on the planet. The ruins we leave will be all that's left when mankind disappears. The lyrics of the album range from different subjects, from personal experiences and feelings to a song about revenge and another one about primordial hunting.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?

All of us have a very good work ethic and respect for each other. When we work on Vredesblod that's the focus for all of us, then we can balance the work with other bands for the time outside of Vredesblod.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We have not played our first show yet, but we are currently talking to promoters and bringing Vredesblod to the stage. There seems to be a lot of interest from fans in seeing Vredesblod live so hopefully it doesn't take too long.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

Nothing official yet, unfortunately.

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band? Any final words?

Thank you very much for this interview and thanks for your support of Vredesblod. The easiest way of getting in contact with us is to follow our Facebook-page (www.facebook.com/vredesblod). For fans not having Facebook we can be contacted at info@obelisk-polaris.com
