Echolot exclusive interview

1-Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

We are a power Trio from Basel, Switzerland, founded in 2014.

2- “Curatio” is the band's upcoming album, how long did it take to write?

It took us about 2 years from the idea to the final Recording.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

We love complex, heavy and harmonical stuff. Bach, Elder, Cult of Luna, Lucio Dalla, Snarf are some of our go-to artists.

4- The group started in 2014, can you tells us how did you all meet?

We met in a bar in Basel where usually none of us would go. None of us has been there since we met there in 2014. I guess that was fate. Now that we think about it, we could arrange our 10 year anniversary there. For the bar that would be a deep stilistic break.

5- The new album title is “Curatio”, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

Our texts are metaphorical and symbolical representations of our experiences, limitations and strengths, as given by the human form and mind. They can sting and create turmoil. "Curatio" is the idea that there are mechanisms that stimulate personal growth in order to overcome or accept and live with a haunted mind.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?

We know each other and therefore manage to work towards a goal that is in everybody’s interest. As it is in any relationship, tasks need to be explicitly distributed in order to not create resentment. We also try to do fun things from time to time, things that are not related to touring or writing music together.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We play a lot in Basel. There is a lively scene related to our music supporting us quite a lot.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

Unfortunately touring this year will not be possible, we are planning to hit the road next year in spring. So far however there are no definitive shows planned. This is also due to our plans to work on new stuff next year.

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band? Any final words?
