Crownshard exclusive interview

1-Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for
taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the band? Where is it from?

Hello  Metal Music Midwest!
Thank you for the opportunity!
My name is Cesare and i am both singer and guitarist for crownshard project.
The name of the band is "Crownshard" and consists of four elements, guitar and vocals, guitar, bass and drums. We come from a small town near Reggio Emilia, northern Italy.

2- “Awareness” is your new EP, how long did it take to compose it?

The songs were written in 2019 immediately after the release of the first EP "crownshard" in a short time. The hardest part was all the production that we personally followed. Unfortunately, due to the covid pandemic and various work commitments and also musical commitments related to other projects, the times were very long.

3- What musical influences inspired the songwriting?

The songwriting was mainly inspired by the bands of the extreme music scene of the nineties. Bands like Satyricon, Immortal, Children Of Bodom, Emperor, Death, Behemoth have had a big influence on the way we play and compose metal music. Of course, there are also influences related to the most classic heavy metal.

4- When the band started? Can you tells us more?

In late 2016 from a desire to create a new extreme metal band, the kind of music I have always preferred to play. I immediately involved some elements including drummer Riccardo and my brother Edoardo for bass, later replaced by Saverio. Finally we contacted Manuel to play with two guitars in live shows and here we are.

5- The album title is “Awareness”, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

With "Awareness," the concept of finding awareness is explored further. There is much to be said about the effort to find awareness, as it is an individual and different journey for everyone. We approach it through lyrics about experiences on the path to finding awareness. The texts deal specifically with suicide, revenge, failure, depression and perdition, recurring realities of human existence in which mindfulness could be rediscovered.

6- Have you performed any shows in your area? If so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

Over the past few years we've held a few concerts in our areas, it happens some times that you play in front of people who are not familiar with the world of extreme metal but at the end of the concert they still come to compliment you on your performance and personally ask me how the hell I can sing like that... it probably won't become their favorite music but I think the intensity of metal music can really hit anyone deep down.

7- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

Sorry, not for the moment

8- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote you? Any final words?

The best way is through social of course, I leave here some links.
Remain in metal because life ends but metal not.
