BlindDryve exclusive interview

1-Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the band? Where is the band from?

We're BlindDryve, a four piece hard rock/metal band based in Albuquerque, NM. We've had many lineup changes. Daniel Gonzales (bass) is the founding member of the band. Mitch Palacio (guitar) and David Alvarado (drums) joined the band in 2021. Frankee Romero (guitar) is the flagship guitarist of BlindDryve, and has recently rejoined after a two year hiatus. This is the first time BlindDryve has had a two guitarist lineup.

2- “Space Between” is your upcoming single, how it was composing this song?

Mitch started writing "Space Between" at home and brought it to practice. Daniel added a section and then lyrics were written all together with our former vocalist Chris Sandoval, who was the original vocalist.

3- What musical influences inspired the songwriting?

There were really no musical influences, like no other bands or artists that inspired the songwriting. It all just came from within us, our own personal feelings and experiences.

4- When the band started? Can you tells us more?

BlindDryve started during an ultimate band contest put on by the local rock radio station in the mid 2000's. That's how Daniel and Chris met. There have been several lineup, multiple guitarists, drummers and singers.

5- The single title is “Space Between”, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

The title "Space Between" is a reference to the time before Mitch joined BlindDryve, a period of deep depression. There's like this space between the happy moments in life where nothing feels right, or even real.

6- Have you performed any shows in your area? If so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

We're actually wrapping up a string of shows here in NM. Our audiences have been great, there's been a lot of energy at our shows! And we're doing pretty good with merch sales lately, so that's a good sign.

7- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

At this time, we'll be playing at Revel in Albuquerque on Saturday, March 11th. After that we'll be taking a few months off to start writing a new album. We'll try and release that sometime in 2024.

8- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote you? Any final words?

We can be reached through our BLINDDRYVE Facebook page, or email us at Blinddryve01@gmail.com.
