Godzilla In The Kitchen exclusive interview and First album release

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Hi Metal Music News and Interviews! We are Godzilla In The Kitchen, a three-piece Heavy Psychedelic Band from Leipzig, Germany. We play and create instrumental rock and metal songs with differing complexity, some more heavy, some more light, and some progressive. Generally, our music invites people to dream, trance, and dance.

2- "Godzilla In The Kitchen" is the band's first full album. How long did it take to compose and record?

We worked on our first album for around 4 Years. Due to our budget back then, the production had to be finished within few weekend, which left us very unhappy with the result originally in 2015. Later on, we took on the challenge to re-master the sound to where it mirrored our stage sound and experience and re-released it on vinyl in 2020.

3- What musical influences inspire the band's compositions?

Our musical influences vary from absolute classics like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Tool and Kyuss, to Porcupine Tree, Helmet, Primus and even electronic music artists.

4- The group started in 2011. Can you tell us how did the members all meet?

We were all living in the same town at that time, trying our luck in different fields of study. We were all searching for members to form a band and when we got together we jammed out what feels like the first three songs within a day.

5- The new album title is EXODUS. Tell us the details about the content and a more in-depth meaning to this title?

The content is clearly left to everyone’s own imagination. We were continuing the story we started in our first album, in which Godzilla attacks. The Second Album deals with humanity's reaction to the catastrophe they caused themselves. The story is continued in the Album cover artwork as well as the song titles. Feel free to inspect it and create your own EXODUS story!

6- Are the current members of this project (band) part of another band or project? Or is everyone dedicated solely to the group? How do you maintain a good balance working together?

Parts of the band have performed in different bands over the years. We have never put in any effort in maintaining balance, it is all one jammy creative mess. We all do what we can and give our very best to just create the best music possible.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? If so, how receptive and supportive are the people of your music?

Of course, we have performed plenty of shows in our area. During last year's EXODUS release, we played Wacken Open Air, and continued with a full two week tour through Germany, Czech Republic, and Poland. 

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

We have a bunch of shows and festivals planned and there are more to be announced. This year we will go international and play shows in different countries in Europe. Stay tuned and watch out for our Tour updates!
