Parity Boot exclusive interview here at Metal Music NEWS and Interviews

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music NEWS and Interviews. Our readers are excited to get to know you and your band. Could you give us a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Parity Boot was founded by our singer/guitarist Thias in 1998. We released several Demos and won the Lower Saxony Part of Wacken Metal Battle 2005.

In 2009 we released our first Album “Into Nothing” and played a tour through Germany with Hantzel and Gretyl as well as several festivals. The band is now located in Hamburg/North Germany.

2- "Fast Forward" is the band's new album. How long did it take to compose and record?

Fast Forward was written and recorded over several years, Thias works as music producer and engineer for all kind of projects and it was often difficult to find additional time for Parity Boot after the regular studio hours. An almost -at least these days- traditional cycle of one album every 1,5 years is kind of impossible for a small DIY band like us, especially when you want to deliver something special in our genre. We hope we succeeded and you enjoy the ride!

3- What musical influences inspire the band's compositions?

Our musical influences are industrial gods like Strapping Young Lad and Fear Factory. We are also influenced by Bands like Static X and 90s Crossover. We have a special Playlist on our Spotify profile with our all time favourites, so that would be a good starting point for a trip down memory lane. We are old fucks.

4- Can you tell us how did the members all meet?

Jörg (Bass) and Thias know each other for a long, long time, they lived in the same village in the middle of nowhere. After moving to Hamburg and a few changes in the line-up Dave (guitar) and Jakob (drums) joined the band.

Dave was introduced to the band by another guitarist that worked at a local music store - who witnessed us playing a few shows as a trio but was unhappy with that situation. Thankfully our friend knew that Dave was in between bands“ at that point! Thias met Jakob just when he was about to leave a house party - always ask people if they are playing any instruments, you never know who you might find!

5- The new album title is "Fast Forward". Tell us the details about the content and a more in-depth meaning to this title?

Our song „Fast Forward“ was heavily influenced by movies like „One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest“ and „Twelve Monkeys“ it’s about struggling with the sanity of your personal circumstances necessarily and the fierce, not neccesarily rational fight against it.

Fast forward - without thinking about the consequences, do it for the moment, because you NEED to do something - to at least feel alive for the moment.Music and lyrics are trying to deliver this feeling with as much impact as possible.

We realised quite soon that „Fast Forward“ would be the title track for the record, it mirrors the struggle and insanity that is woven through the records lyrics and song ideas so well.Nightmares, Too Late, Lost…and so on…And of course the irony of the song being one of the first ones written for a record that took so long to finally be released isn’t lost on us either…Slowly Forward just didn’t sound right :-D

6- Are the current members of this band part of another band or project? Or is everyone dedicated solely to the group? How do you maintain a good balance working together?

Everybody of us is also playing in other bands but PARITY BOOT is our full priority.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? If so, how receptive and supportive are the people of your music?

Of course we played shows in our area, Germany and neighbouring countries. Our fans appreciate the chaos in our music and our energetic shows. One great memory is a show a few years ago where people we’ve never seen before actually sang along to the songs - that was fantastically weird - and Thias got called out for mixing the lyrics up in one song afterwards. That meant a lot to us. Also that people from all over the globe stay directly in contact with us over those years - and are now being all hyped up for the new record.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

At the moment we are planning shows, but nothing is final. We are happy to announce shows inthe near future.

9- Thanks for your participation. Finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the group just in case someone wants to book or promote the band? Any final words?

The simplest way to get in contact with us is to write us via contact@parity-boot.de .You can also contact us via facebook, Instagram or twitter!Final words: Pick up your guitars and play some metal!
