Edge of Insanity Exclusive interview

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Edge of Insanity is a Heavy Metal Revival from the era of where Heavy Metal all began.

Where is the band from? Dallas Texas


2- Redemption is the band's debut EP, how long did it take to write? Three months


3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions? Black Sabbath, Judas Priest. The list truly is endless, but these are the big guns.


4- The group started in 2020, can you tells us how did you all meet? Gary (drummer) founded the band. Originally to be an Ozzy era Black Sabbath tribute band. He found Dan first, Stergas came aboard to be a second guitarist. By the first rehearsal with Stergas, as the sole guitarist, Edge of Insanity was established as an original band. A few months later Gary brings Lance onboard and completes the band.


5- The album title is Redemption, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title? Redemption is in the chorus of our very first original song written, "The River". It seemed a fitting title given Lance's music career. Redemption in a nutshell means Lance is back!


6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together? If you're passionate about anything in life, you find a way. If it was easy everyone would be doing the grind. Work harder and sleep less! 


7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music? Several locally. It was a slow start, crowd has grown significantly in the last few months. When Edge of Insanity steps on stage the crowd does not have a choice but to be receptive. Delivering the goods is what we strive for.


8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about? Currently taking a break performing live to begin tracking the follow up to Redemption. No release date as of yet. Very early on in the process. Expect 12+ songs. Edge of Insanity will be in Las Vegas for The Apocalypse in the Desert Metal fest in March 2023.
