Exclusive interview with Anachronistic

To my readers please give a warm welcome to Anachronistic!!

Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group? Where is the band from?

Hi, thank you so much for this opportunity. Anachronistic was born out of the idea to breath life to lyrics that I’ve been writing since around 2015-time frame. My name is Matt and I’m the vocalist and concept guy behind Anachronistic.  I grew up in the United States but have been in Republic of Korea since 2005.  I’m personally a huge hardcore and metal fan starting roughly 20 years ago.

I decided to breath life into my lyrics but was on the search for the right idea after getting the support to put my idea into gear from my wife. As a fan of black, death, thrash metal, and old school hardcore, I decided that I would like to attempt to combine black metal ish riffs with a hardcore / punk vocal approach while keeping my real but funny lyrics as the focal point behind the theme and art.

I reached out to Umarlak as I’ve known of him since his Eradication project and asked him if he would be on board to do this project with me.  He agreed and Anachronistic was born. His riffs and vision are the backbone behind this project.  Umarlak is Ukrainian living in Poland, so our communication is a little bit hard because of the time difference involved. But with countless hours we managed to create something unique, raw, and fun from halfway around the world from each other.

2- 700 and 19 Ways of Decay is the band's debut album, how long did it take to write?

The lyrics were written long ago roughly 2015-time frame, but once the project was created it was roughly 7 – 9 weeks to get it roughly laid down from a concept and recording perspective.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?

Bathory, MGLA, Terror, Blood For Blood just to name a few.

4- The band started in 2022, can you tells us how did you all meet?

I emailed Umarlak discussing the idea and concept.

5- The album title is 700 and 19 Ways of Decay, can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?

Regarding the album title “700 And 19 Ways Of Decay”700 -19 is an actual employment document number for people working in my realm. My job kills almost everyone in one way or another. I did a spin on the 700-19 and fittingly titled the album 700 And 19 Ways Of Decay.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?

Being halfway around the world and this project being a passion we maintain our balance by creating relative deadlines and maintaining progress updates.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?

No shows, strictly a recording band…..for now

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?

None

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band? Any final words?

Final words: Thank You for the opportunity to get exposure to Anachronistic. We are actively working on the next releases with some pretty awesome stuff being released this year and next year.
