Sidus Atrum Exclusive interview

Sidus Atrum

1- Hello and welcome to Metal Music Midwest, first off, thanks for taking the time to do the interview, could you give our readers a brief description of the group?
Where is the band from?
Sidus Atrum is a Black/Death/Doom one-woman project from Kyiv, Ukraine. It was founded in 2015 by Yulia Lykhotvor. Each album is a journey into the depth of pain and despair to find a way out and be reborn then.

2- Spiral Of Life is the band's new full album, how long did it take to write?
It took me nearly 3 years to record my first album "Cold Silence". "Spiral Of Life" was recorded during two years.

3- What musical influence inspires the bands compositions?
My music is inspired by different bands and musicians such as Olafur Arnalds, Low Roar, Raventale, Der Weg Einer Freheit, Behemoth etc.

4- The group started in (2015), can you tells us how did you all meet?
Actually, Sidus Atrum is not a band, there is only one member and I started composing music late 2015.

5- The new album title is (Spiral Of Life), can you give us details about the content and more in depth meaning to this title?
Spiral Of Life describes the journey of the soul in the cycle of reincarnation. The artwork created by Gogo Melone depicts the human being’s awareness of the infinite and cyclical nature of existence.
It starts with the "Fading Light" that ” is a story of a soul making a choice to be born and have mortal experience. "Sea Of Life'' describes our way on Earth with stilles and storms. Next two songs are dedicated to death, the last hours of life and turning back to eternity. "Rain Brings Your Voice" recorded with Daniel Neagoe is a dialogue between two souls departed by death. "Regression" tells about recollection of the past lives, understanding that after death our journey continues and the new life may begin soon. Spiral of life brings us back, we are the songs of eternity.

6- Each member of this project is part of another band, how do you maintain a good balance working together?
There were a few guests on my new album Spiral Of Life. We discussed our ideas and then they sent me the results. I guess I didn't really distract them from their main activity.

7- Have you performed any shows in your area? if so, how receptive and supportive are the people to your music?
Sidus Atrum didn't have any shows yet but I hope it changes in the future cause I receive many requests from my listeners.

8- Are there any upcoming shows or tours you can tell us about?
When the war in Ukraine is over I will think about inviting session musicians and playing a few shows.

9- Thanks for your participation, finally, what is the best way to get a hold of the band, in case someone wants to book or promote the band?
Any final words?
