Throne Of Heresy - Antioch
Throne Of Heresy is a five piece band consisting of, Thomas Clifford - Vocals. Tomas Göransson - Guitars. Michael Edström - Guitars. Björn Ahlqvist - Bass. Mathias Westman - Drums. Genre described as, death metal. Band origin Linköping
Antioch album to be released on The Sign Records 12 February 2016. My first impression, this band is a force to be reckoned with. It is one of those albums that catches your attention from the very first song. Unleashing a wave of chaos from riff to riff. Excellent production quality. Intense and powerful drums. Crushing distortion on the guitars. Some of the bands that come to my mind as I listen would be, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, Monstrosity and Decapitated. The band comparisons aside, these musicians are definitely creating their characteristics in the compositions. Some of the most prominent songs to me would be "Black Gates of Antioch", thunderous rolling kicks an excellent bass lines create a sonic wall of mass proportions. The track "Exordium", is another composition that I kept on repeat for a long time. A catchy intro, rolling toms lead into a devastating riff of epic manifestation.
In conclusion, this release is bound to make people pay attention. I will have to say it is one of the heaviest and strongest albums of 2016 thus far. If you like extreme and brutal metal then this is for you.
